Tutoring # 9.5-10 - Anh Tuan Le (1.5 hours/90minutes)

 On June 20th I met with Anh Tuan Le and helped him to complete the short-answer comprehension questions from the same reading we had gone over the day before. Whenever he struggled to understand what the questions were asking him I would rephrase it and refer to aspects of the text that it discussed until he understood what the question was asking him to do. One of the questions he struggled with asked him to use a real-world example that connected with a certain part of the text. I would have him to look at what aspects of the text the question referred to and what the real-world example connected with. I would also explain and define keywords that he did not understand or explain the keyword in the context of the text. Throughout the session, I would ask him to give me examples or explain the question to me in order to check his comprehension before I explained it to him. At the end of the session, I taught him common American hand gestures such as air quotes.
