Tutoring #7 - Dojun Kim (1 hour)
On June 14th, the first part of the session with Dojun Kim was spent as conversation practice. He described how he and his wife were going to try to extend their housing contract. He explained how in South Korea it is difficult to sell a house, and that when people rent a house they pay it yearly instead of monthly. He explained to me how the renting process in South Korea is similar and different from the renting process in the United States. I then asked him about the one trip he took to Seattle, Washington in the United States for two weeks and the places he had visited. As I used to live there I recommended to him popular places to visit and famous foods in Seattle such as clam chowder. After we finished the listening exercise that we had started yesterday I tested him on advanced prepositions and prepositional phrases. He understood most but I had to explain to him the words "besides" and "though" as well as the various ways they can be used as prepositions and in phrases.
