Tutoring # 2 - Anh Tuan Le (1 hour)
On May 22nd, I met with Anh Tuan Le. I began the class by asking him about his weekend. We both talked about our weekend plans and I corrected him on his use of the past progressive. While he discussed his past and future weekend plans I corrected his pronunciation. After correcting his pronunciation I realized that he sometimes struggles with making the "r" sound among other pronunciation struggles. I then asked if there was anything he wanted to focus on that day. He said that for his CIES class, he wrote an outline for an essay. He asked me to help him determine if his outline made sense. I had planned an activity where he would read out loud a chapter of The Little Prince but decided to focus on his assignment and then do my planned activity if there was time in the end. I needed to read and reread his outline a few times in order to understand what his points were in the outline and then after noting the errors in grammar and word order, I helped him to connect his ideas with more clarity and specificity.
