Tutoring #11/12 - Fatima (2 hrs)
I had one of my final few tutoring sessions with Fatima yesterday. She always makes me excited to come to tutoring because of how positive and goofy she is! We started the session by going over what she learned in class and clarifying some points of grammar. She has a grammar exam this week, so we made sure to iron out everything she was confused about - one being the future perfect continuous tense. I had us practice a few example sentences, then she wrote her own. She also has a speaking presentation coming up, so we ran through that as well, with her practicing her parts to me as if it was the real thing! As she presented, I wrote down corrections and we reviewed these at the end. It was mainly small tweaks like forgetting an s at the end of a word or using present tense instead of past, etc. In the end, I asked her some questions relating to her topic, so she could practice answering potential questions from her peers on the day of. I ran through a few different questions/ways to ask things so she could practice a variety of different answers, as well as thinking on her feet - she did awesome! I can’t wait to hear all about how her exams go, because I’m sure she’ll do amazing!
