TS #7 Do-Jun
Do-Jun and I discussed making predictions, English expressions about sweets/candy, and then did a listening activity using a Willy Wonka clip. During my mini review of making predictions I introduced relevant vocab to build Do-Jun's schema, I then had him practice making predictions with some photos I had on a slideshow. After making predictions I had Do-Jun talk about what he saw in the photos to ensure he had the vocab he needed. We then discussed how Halloween is celebrated in the U.S. and I introduced sweet-themed expressions/terms.
What I learned: My preferred pedagogical technique is to have slide shows ready with lots of pictures so that I can reference them during my lessons. I think the visuals also help students to make connections more easily.
