During my session with Khushi today, we worked on one of her quizzes (the one I believe for composition class). Looking over Khushi's shoulder, she singled out the ones which she was confident that she could do on her own to work on her own time. This left about half of the questions which we did together. Most of my feedback concerned grammatical corrections. One constant mistake which I needed to correct was the addition of an -s for third-person verbs in the simple present tense. I also needed to remind Khushi to capitalize proper nouns and some common irregular simple past and past participle forms (including "given" and "forgot"). To some questions Khushi already knew the correct answer, but I had to coax it out of her. Whenever Khushi protested that she didn't know how to answer, I would continue asking questions until she could phrase the complete sentence herself. A few times though, I needed to model a sentence for her. Khushi did understand what I considered to be the most difficult concept on the quiz very well. The first question involved the construction of complex and compound sentences. She grasped this concept very well, and accurately produced examples of each.
