Topic: Group 1 Speaking skills (Interview questions and learning vocabulary)

Teacher: Dr. Felicia Ciappetta

Teacher Presentation: This class was more student-centered as there was only one student in the class. The teacher had the student interview me with 5 questions (First name, last name, phone number, home address, and email address) and then asked the student to repeat my responses. After this she began vocabulary instruction, focusing on descriptive words such as how to describe age (young, middle aged, elderly) height (short, average, tall) weight (thin, average, heavy-set). The next section consisted of hair descriptors such as length, type, and color. When the student incorrectly described a man who works in the CIES building, the teacher took us to his office so he could see him and correct his mistakes; I found this to be a very impressive, on the spot tactic used by the teacher for correction.
